Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d26 - It is always great to see Dad arrive at camp in the morning with coffee (or hot chocolate). Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d26 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d26 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d26 - Last but not least.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d26 - The victors. Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d26 - "My dogs are barking!"
Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d25 - The vehicles are unloaded and we're ready to roll! Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d25 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d25 - "Mmm, lunch." Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d25 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d25 - Me wit ma homies. Sadly we're missing Pete. The poor guy was having some knee issues, was a bit under-the-weather, and had school stuff going on too (if memory serves). He joined up with us in some later parts of the hike, though. Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d25 - A true veteran.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d25 - Ahh, rain!! Happily it only rained a little in the evening and overnight but we got the shelter up in time and really weren't bothered much. Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d25 - Cooking up dinner
Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m04d25 - Pete bravely decided to take a quick dip (despite feeling a little under-the-weather to begin with). I've censored the original photo but you get the idea -- we've got photo proof of Pete's feat. Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m01d04 - Our immediate family gift exchange wasn't until 4th (giving ample time for post-Christmas deal-snagging). Mom cooked up all kinds of fine finger foods and we watched an episode from Rachel's Planet Earth DVD series (which she got from Aunt Pam).
Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m01d04 - Mom is fond of popping the bubbles in plastic packing wrap. Some of the people at the office know this and give me bubble wrap to take home. I packed one of Mom's gifts very liberally in the stuff so she'll be well supplied for quite some time. Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m01d04 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m01d04 - My stylish new warmth vest. Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m01d04 - Rachel got a tiny little dictionary from Mom, with which she was quite tickled.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m01d01 - The annual Mostert New Year gathering. Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m01d01 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m01d01 - Grab em while you can! Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m01d01 - Mom made a game involving our Mostert family tree. People could fill in the names and also match names with photos that Mom had collected and posted.

Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m01d01 - Rachel had Dad's name and bought him a MP3 player. I got to help her buy it and also load up songs on it. I've never actually used an MP3 player before so it was a new experience. Mom also gave him an FM transmitter so he can use it in the car, but we've not tried that out yet. Comment on this (0 so far) y2008m01d01 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d30 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d30 - Lucky Zach got to lick off the cream whipper!
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d30 - Uncle Jon and I rendering some Christmas classic. Groben, you ain't got nothin' on us! Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d30 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d30 - Comment on this (2 so far) y2007m12d30 - "Oh, do be careful with Grandma, Zach!"
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d29 - We do a White Elephant gift exchange with the older Vogel cousins. The gifts usually blend useful and silly elements. Rachel spent a while putting together her gift. Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d29 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d29 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d29 -

Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d29 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d29 - The adults (well, those a generation up from me) also do a White Elephant gift exchange.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d29 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d29 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d25 - Dad, Rachel, and I spent Christmas afternoon at Grandma's place, along with Aunt Beth and Mrs. Duncan. Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m12d24 - Traditionally Mom, Rachel, and I do the decorating and Dad watches from his chair (though he also hangs up the first ornament). Telum either watches or takes down the ornaments.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m06d23 - Crazy times... Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m06d23 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m06d23 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m06d23 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m06d23 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m06d23 - One my favourite shots from this batch.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m06d23 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m06d23 - It was weird - just as I was uploading this photo I heard the train whistle coming from the tracks near our place...
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m06d23 - Comparing scavenger hunt results. Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d05 - Shannon and Rachel discussing yarn, I think...
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d05 - "Bye, bye BC!" Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d04 - We went on the Seawall walk with Aunt Marg.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d04 - There were some massive cargo ships loitering in the water. Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d04 - Unfortunately the German Friendship Globe wasn't spinning that day, but it was still cool to look at. The thing weighs somewhere around two tons! Unglaubliches!
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d04 - Sista-gurl Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d04 - Lunch at the Tomahawk - awesome food!
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d04 - Here we are at the Brink's place. It was great to get to hang out for a bit! Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d03 - We visited Aunt Barb's place and Rachel played some piano there.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d03 - Comment on this (2 so far) y2007m05d03 - Dad posing as Atlas
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d03 - Dude, you could make a *lot* of two-by-fours from that tree! Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d02 - The ferry was much larger than I thought it would be and I had fun wandering around during the trip.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d02 - Once we stowed our gear at the Squires we went out for a walking tour of the 'hood. Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d02 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d02 - Dinner at the Squires Comment on this (1 so far) y2007m05d02 - I rediscovered the joy of bubble-making.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d02 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d01 - We stopped by one of the many waterfalls.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d01 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d01 - My folks are here traversing a suspension bridge
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d01 - Dad gnawing on the suspension bridge cable Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m05d01 - Here Allan and Keith are getting along famously (?)
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m04d30 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m04d30 - "My dogs are barking!"
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m04d30 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m04d28 - We took a tour of Fort Langley and stopped in at a gelato place. That icecream tastes über-good!
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m04d28 - That's Rachel in the middle, getting her diploma or certificate or whatever it is called. Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m04d28 - Nice gold rope, huh!
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m04d28 - Proud family of the grad. Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m04d28 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m04d28 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m04d26 - The Williams took us on a tour. This photo is out on a dock some distance from the shore of White Rock.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m04d24 - The young lady beside Mom is a sister of a girl my sister knows. It is less confusing than it sounds... Rachel thought we might meet her in the Calgary airport and we did. What's more, Mom's seat was right beside hers! The two chatted a fair bit I think. Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m04d24 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d31 - In the Bowmanville's skit, we're being interviewed by Chrissy's Christian Courtship Services. Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d19 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d19 - "Now don't get carried away, Unkle Mawdy!" Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d19 - "Group hug!!!"
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d18 - The three youngest at the cottage. Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d18 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d18 - I looked up "mischief" in the dictionary and it had this photo. ß-) Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d18 - But not as cool as Maria. How does she do it?!
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d18 - Dad and Zach. Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d18 - Who are you looking at?
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d18 - Thanks Oma! Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d17 - Uncle Bill loves canoing around near the guys when we're out swimming, challenging us to try to tip him.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d17 - "I've got this sinking feeling..." Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d17 -
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d17 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d17 - Get MAD! The Mothers Against Daughters volleyball games displayed talent on both sides.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d17 - "Hey, you guys lookin' for gold or something?" Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d17 - The great ol' unkle Jim.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d16 - One of the many group photos. To my knowledge, everyone who came to the cottage this year is one this photo (aside from Uncle Art and Tom, the photographer). Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d16 - It was swell that Janelle could join us for the week.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d16 - Pretty close, I'd say... Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d16 - Part of the annual Obstacle Course this year was photographing one of the team member's getting soaked. That Joe is such a trooper.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d15 - Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d15 - Our first campfire. There was a pretty crazy time of the Animal Game. It is a wonder no one lost an eye...
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d14 - Monday evening was rainy... Dale brought along a book on the Star Wars universe which was very well received. Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d14 - Ben requested a pen tatoo so I obliged.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d14 - Pete and his laptop are catching 40 winks. Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d12 - We've just moved in. Say, is that an ELECTRONIC DEVICE that Ben is holding?!
Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d12 - The bottom bunk is for Pete; the top is for storing all the filming gear. Comment on this (0 so far) y2006m08d12 - Tom is a first-timer at the cottage - Cheryl's boyfriend.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m08d20 - Once Darth was on the road and had some of kilometers under its belt we took it to Mostport International Speedway to compete in King of the Hill. On Saturday evening at the stock car track during intermission there is a chance for people to race their street cars. The vehicles race in pairs for one lap, and the winners pair up with the winners until their is only one car left. Dad drove, of course (I'd have been scared out of my wits). In this photo Dad is at the starting line with a Mazda RX7, the toughest competitor in the evening's group. Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m08d20 - The RX7 is passing Dad as they go into turn 3.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m08d20 - Dad outpowered the RX7 to the finish line! This photo is of the third and final round - Darth versus some white car. Dad is just ahead of it as they move into turn 3. Dad went wide though, and the other vehicle passed him! It was still ahead when they shot out of the last turn. Dad tromped on the throttle and roared past the opponent just in time! Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m08d20 - Dad got a few moments of glory on the mic while I got to come on the track and take some photos.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m07d28 - Grandma made another fine meal. I generally eat a bit too much there since the food is always great (um, not that it isn't great at home, at least not when Mom makes dinner). Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m07d28 - Aunt Beth had her colourful (to put it mildly) outfit on. And yes, there are matching socks too. ß-)
Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m07d28 - Whoa - I think Rachel might hit me if she sees this photo on my site! However, I believe in sharing the brutal truth here on my site, no matter if it is what people want to see or not. Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m07d28 - It seems like everyone was tuckered out after dinner.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m07d28 - ZZZzzzz... (Actually I wasn't sleeping.) Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m07d28 - Here's Dad.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m07d28 - Note - this could be a bit yukky. Dad was working on his indestructable mailbox when the 18 inch piece of 3/8 wall, 8 1/2 diameter tubing finished being cut and toppled down onto his right foot. The great toe and its neighbour were the unfortunate ones, mostly the great toe as this photo will atest to. Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m06d04 - My sis, Rachel, holding XianZi.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m06d04 - Everybody look LEFT! Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m06d04 - And now, look RIGHT!
Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m05d07 - In the background we got Jessica, my sweet sis, Chrissy, and Rebecca. In the foreground Esther is on a mission to get someplace. Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m05d07 - Mark catching a bit of a breath before launching into the action again.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m01d08 - Pete is getting us to guess the secret word. "It's a... a... treadmill? An escalator? A corkscrew?" Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m01d08 - Faster, Rach, faster! Time is running out! BTW, my team whipped the other one in this game. Oh, yeah!
Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m01d02 - Here my Uncle and Aunt are giving me a good-bye hug. I'm not a hug fan (I like my personal space) and they know it... I can make exceptions for good-byes though. Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m01d01 - Some of us are learning a new game here at the annual Mostert New Year's lunch. Tim and Joe were my coaches.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2005m01d01 - Hmm, I can almost read Chrissy's cards... Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m12d31 - Foot and back rubs are kind of a tradition at Sissons get-togethers. Here Uncle Jon is graciously tuning up my weary feet. It was especially nice of him since they had been in snowboarding boots most of the day. X-( Of the gang I think my sister is about the best at foot and back rubs. Lemme tell you, that is the way to end off a tiring day!
Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m12d31 - The object of conversation and gesturing in this image escapes me... Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m12d23 - While the tree was being setup by the rest of us, Dad put together this little thing where metal angels spin around from candle heat and ding bells. The constant, cheery dinging is part of the whole Sissons Christmas experience.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m12d23 - Rachel tastefully arranged a garland to adorn Dad's head. Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m12d23 - Here are Rachel and myself sitting in front of the tree.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m12d23 - And here are Dad, Mom, and Telum. Dad is being a little goofy. ß-) Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m09d25 - I thought I'd get a photo of Maria in action, kindly pouring tea for one of the guests.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m09d25 - Some of the fair maidens - Ruth, Maria, and Abby. Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m09d25 - Here we've got Maria, Josh, and Amy posing together under the archway.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m09d25 - Distinguished gentlemen - Pete and Matt. Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m09d25 - We guys had a game of Crocket, too. Pete is lining up for a shot here. He made a great comeback midway the game to win it.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m09d25 - Josh in the midst of our game. Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m09d25 - Ruth, Chrissy, and Amy, no doubt engaged in a profound discussion of life's deeper matters.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m09d25 - That's Sir Pete to you! Aaron brought along a cool sword which Queen Amy is knighting Pete with here. Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m09d25 - Ellie is trying out the feel of the sword.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m09d25 - Cute, huh. Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m07d03 - My sister is trying to get him to chase the stick but Telum doesn't follow commands well... He's much too clever for that!
Comment on this (0 so far) y2004m07d03 - And slippery too! Telum may look cute and cuddly but he can quickly turn into a tornado with prickly claws and jaws. Comment on this (0 so far) Of course kittens are so cute and fluffy that one has to pick them up sometimes. Here Spurgeon (the spunkiest of the four) is hanging out with Dad.
Comment on this (0 so far) Dad is welding the aforementioned flange to the turbo outlet pipe.
