Photos - Mostert Summer Picknick 2007
y2007m06d23

This year's annual summer get-together was hosted by Eliza Mostert's family and held on his property. There was quite a good turnout and the weather was nice too. We got a tour of the equipment for Watt's Up Solar, Durham's first solar farm, which runs on the property. Cool stuff! Some of the Brinks showed up part way through dinner so I hung out with Kev and Tim for a bit and got some fun photos by the railway tracks. Later we found out that the police had been scouting around the area because someone had reported people throwing stones from the railway bridge down onto the road below. I don't think we even went as far as the bridge but we did "trespass" on the railway property for a while - I didn't realize we weren't really supposed to... >.> Railways are so fun though! So the photos below were taken in ignorance.

Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m06d23 - If you look for a bit you can usually find a few railroad spikes along the side and occationally large nuts or other rusted out hardware.
Comment on this (0 so far) y2007m06d23 - It was weird - just as I was uploading this photo I heard the train whistle coming from the tracks near our place...
Comment on this (2 so far) y2007m06d23 - This old barn will probably be taken down soon because the foundation is getting shaky. The Vogel kids and Rach and I have some fun memories in there, playing around between piano lessons.
