I like to keep up-to-date with where today’s movie and music is headed. It can be pretty disturbing but I think it is important. The reviews on the site, a branch of Focus on the Family, are detailed and solid and I value them highly. If they have a review for a particular movie I read it before making a decision on whether to watch that movie or not.

The local church that I attend has a website with information on what we believe, causes we support, and different things happening in our church life.

The CHP is Canada’s only pro-Life federal political party, and the only federal party that endorses the Judeo-Christian principles enshrined in the Canadian Constitution.

- The Rock
The Christian rock station is just heavy enough for me to dig it plenty.
- SomaFM
I regularly tune in to the Def Con Radio, Dubstep Beyond, and Beat Blender channels of this listener-supported, commercial-free, internet-only radio station, as they are great background music when I want neither silence nor distracting lyrics. Note – some channels have more lyrics than others and they can be objectionable.
- RadioU
This Christian station has channels for my two favourite genres: Battery (hardcore / metal) and Fusion: Electronic.

7-Zip is an open source file archiver with a high compression ratio.

OpenOffice.org fully-featured open source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and more.
- PDFCreator
PDFCreator is a free tool to create PDF files from anything you can send to a printer. One note though – they’ve been bundling some extras with their install so be wise when you’re going through the install options.
- Xubuntu Linux OS
Xubuntu is a community developed, Linux-based operating system. I installed it on my Acer Aspire One netbook.

- Handy Recovery
Handy Recovery™ is an easy-to-use data recovery software designed to restore files accidentally deleted from hard disks and memory cards. The program can recover files damaged by virus attacks, power failures and software faults, files from deleted and formatted partitions, or restore files dumped from the Recycle Bin. (I’ve used this software to rescue loads of files from two messed HDDs.)
- IsoBuster CD & DVD recovery
Rescue lost files from a bad or trashed CD or DVD disc. (I’ve used this to rescue video from a wiped DVD+RW for Dad.)
